Brooklyn is now a vibrant diverse borough with lots of new kool restaurants, bars, flea markets and amazing small boutiques and Barney’s Co-Op. Please joins us and bring your talent to  the new fashion destination for everything kool and cutting edge – Brooklyn is “Innovative, edgy and brash”.
BKFW main goal is to help those young talents to become successful in the fashion industry. This year’s theme was “Fashion Freedom.” Exciting up-and-coming International designers from around the globe were given the opportunity to showcase their Spring/Summer 2011 collections on the runway from Sept 29th – Oct 2nd, 2011, which also benefited the MTV Staying Alive Foundation .  One of our attendees said “Comparable to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, BKFW has become a powerful platform for designers on the verge of stardom to become a visible to media, buyers, and industry insiders.”

BSF established in 2006, has devoted each season of BKFW to support charitable organizations including (The Abner Louima Foundation, MTV Staying Alive Foundation and the Japan Society). BSF lends a voice to issues including human rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, community development and leadership training. In 2006 BSF established a partnership with the William H. Maxwell High School in the East New York section of Brooklyn (an impoverished community) to educate and inspire students interested in fashion design.

In September 2011, BSF formed the perfect partnership with Industry City (at Bush Terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn). Hailed as Brooklyn’s new waterfront area for prime business development and a diverse residential community, Industry City is the new home of BKFW.

The beauty & accessories industries are a billion-dollar business. The fastest way for anyone to update his or her wardrobe is to add a cool new accessory. The easiest way for a woman to enhance her appearance is to try a new shade of lipstick or change her hair color or length. BK Style encourages the Brooklyn community and fashionistas alike to participate in B.A.G Expo and enjoy two days of fun and shopping at Industry City.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Expo of beauty products (nails, skin & hair, etc.) and showcase of accessories (costume jewelry, hats, bags, etc).  BKFW B.A.G Expo will feature  independent brands of beauty and accessories vendors.
The Expo will showcase new accessory designers and update the public on new beauty products. Each vendor will have the opportunity to give potential consumers free samples, discounts, and informative materials about their products.
B.A.G Expo will serve as a networking event for beauty professionals. Invited guests will include our network of media contacts, hairstylists, fashion stylists, fashion bloggers/writers, makeup- artists, models and photographers. Invites will be sending out to NY/ Brooklyn business owners of (spas, nail salons, hair salons, boutiques, and dental practices to participate in the event).

Industry City, the creative enclave that comprises 40 acres of Bush Terminal along Brooklyn’s Sunset Park waterfront, will host Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} (BKFW), the borough’s premier fashion and charity event, for a second season this Spring.  The “B Fashion, B part of it” Fall/Winter 2012 collection show kicks off on March 29th and runs through April 1st.
